Sony will begin phasing out the 40GB sytem, and go forward with a newer 80GB system.
Starting in September 2008, the newly announced PlayStation 3 80GB model will become the mainstay of the company's hardware line-up. The 80GB model will retail for $399, and will offer all of the features and functionality of the 40GB model Unfortunately, the company did not make any comment on backwards compatibility, which is a key concern for buyers.

I'm gonna have to hand the conference to Xbox hands down... the new dashboard, the avatars, price cut, gears 2, and of course the big one getting Final Fantasy XIII

Yah, I thought XBox had it too, but bunjie had something to say, but wouldn't say it in front of the developers so, If it's what I think that will boost the PS3 up.
